# Codes, offers and affiliates

> Lifetime deals, promo codes, retention offers and the affiliate programme

<Snippet file="audience/cloud-only.mdx" />

## Lifetime codes

Lifetime deals, from AppSumo-style campaigns, are redeemed on the billing
page's lifetime section.

How stacking works:

* **The first code** puts you on the Standard plan, permanently.
* **Each additional code** moves you to Pro and adds **5 more channels** on top
  of it.

Each code can be redeemed once. A used or invalid code is rejected with
"Code already claimed or invalid code".

You cannot redeem a lifetime code while you hold a normal paid subscription.
Cancel first.

### Living with a lifetime account

* The Billing entry disappears from the menu, and the billing page redirects
  away. There is nothing to manage.
* Lifetime accounts are **immune to downgrade side effects**: nothing gets
  disabled underneath you.

## Promo codes

Promo codes are entered at checkout, and they apply to **monthly plans only**.
Switching to yearly removes the promo code field entirely.

Some promotions apply themselves: if an active campaign is running, the
discount is already on the checkout without you typing anything. These are also
monthly-only.

## The retention offer

If you start cancelling a monthly subscription, you may be offered **50% off
for three months** instead. It appears only when you are on a monthly plan,
have been paying for a while, and do not already have a discount.

Taking it keeps your subscription running at the reduced rate for three
billing periods, then returns to the normal price.

## The affiliate programme

Postiz runs an affiliate programme at
[affiliate.postiz.com](https://affiliate.postiz.com), linked from the left rail
on cloud accounts. Sign up there, share your link, earn on referrals.

<Note>
  **On self-hosted Postiz:** the affiliate entry does not appear, since it is
  tied to cloud billing.
